Happy Pride, beloved readers!
The Stonewall riots that began on June 28, 1969 are often cited as the beginning of June becoming Pride month in the United States.
In 1970, Chicago, San Francisco, New York City, and Los Angeles held Pride marches to commemorate the protests fighting for LGBTQ+ rights that began with the Stonewall riots.
