The Indies First program is a year-round campaign in support of independent bookstores. For 2017, author Jason Reynolds (Miles Morales: Spider-Man) led the call to authors to support their local indies by spending part of their day working in a store as a bookseller. Featured author booksellers this year are Lucas Turnbloom (11:00 AM), Henry Herz (noon), Lisa Desimini (1:00 PM), and Marcie Colleen (2:00 PM)! Join us for some special storytimes, and to discover who these great authors are handselling.
Indies First Day also marks the first day of distribution of Loyalty Loot, and our traditional New Year’s Day coupons, with every in-store purchase!
It's also a great time to start perusing the Southern California Independent Booksellers Association Wish List for books to give, or to put on your wish list!
