An In-Store Event!

This is an IN-STORE EVENT with author Jackie Johnson, in discussion with conversation partner Demetra Brodsky. The event will consist of a 30 minute discussion, followed by a Q&A with the audience, and finally a book signing. 

ATTENDING THE EVENT? Purchasing a copy of BLADESTAY through Mysterious Galaxy will get you a numbered ticket for the signing line after the event. Those who have not purchased a book through us are still welcome to get their books signed, but will have to wait until after the numbered line has finished. We highly recommend ordering books in advance of the event, as there's always a chance we will sell out by the event day. Purchasing your books through Mysterious Galaxy allows us to continue to host author events, so we thank you in advance for your support!

How to Order a book from Jackie Johnson and/or Demetra Brodsky if you're attending the event:

1. Add the desired book(s) to your cart.
2. At checkout in the "order comments" box write "attending event." In the event you do not show, we recommend you also put in the comments whether or not you'd like your book "signed only," or to whom your book(s) should be personalized (i.e. "To: Ms. Galaxy"). Requests for anything beyond a name, like a note or quote, are up to the author's discretion and are not guaranteed. Orders must be placed by 12pm pt on the day of the event (November 30th) if you want personalization. About the Authors
JACKIE JOHNSON is a San Diego born poet and novelist. Her background as a journalist, BA in history, and education in armed defense, gives her a uniquely authentic voice within the historical genre. She’s been riding horses for over twenty years and had her own real-life cowboy love story when she fell in love with and married a horse trainer. Together, they established a ranch in Southern California where she spends her days writing, riding, and chasing after their dreams, their two children, four horses, six cats, and two dogs. BLADESTAY is her first novel.

DEMETRA BRODSKY is the author of LAST GIRLS, a 2021 International Thriller Writers Finalist for Best Young Adult Book, one of CNN Underscored’s Best Books of May 2020, a 2021 Kansas National Education Association (KNEA) Reading Circle Commission Recommended Title, and a finalist for the 20222-2023 Black-eyed Susan Award. DIVE SMACK, her debut novel, is a 2018 Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection, ALAN Pick (The Assembly on Literature for Adolescents of NCTE), and a Spring/Summer 2018 Publishers Marketplace Buzz Book for Young Adults. She is the proud daughter of Greek immigrants and has a profound appreciation for personal histories. She lives in Southern California with her partner and two adorable rescue dogs.
