THIS BOOK! Going into this book I thought I had an idea of who the characters would be, but man did Seressia Glass blow me out of the water. The love between Kenya (Keke) and Cameron was so pure, and so true, they were simply meant to be. Keke and Cameron have been friends since high school, and they both are in love with each other, yet can't believe the other would feel the same. Cameron is the purest of cinnamon rolls, who isn't afraid to get tough if it means protecting Keke from anyone who would make her stressed or unhappy, even if that person is her family. He just wants her to be happy and is willing to do whatever it takes to allow her to be happy, and don’t we all deserve someone like that in our life? -Victoria
If you have any personal love or experience with fake relationship tropes, cosplay, competition shows or falling in love with your best friend, The Love Con is the perfect addition to your TBR pile. This romance is slower paced, but the payoff of the hard work Kenya and Cam put in together as the competition develops allows for a satisfying, slice-of-life style read. While sweet golden retriever boys are not *typically* my type, Cameron in The Love Con is too sweet for me not to love. Kind, supportive but firm in his boundaries, Cameron reminds me of very few men I know in real life, but the ones he does bring to mind are all genuinely as kind and thoughtful as he is on the page. Kenya on the other hand is extremely my type; ultra-passionate, dedicated and determined, she is written with relatable realism that had me wanting to bite the heads off gummy worms in frustration right alongside her. I loved this concept of bringing fandom into the fold, and I hope to continue seeing more of this 'trope' in the future. -Rebecca

He’s cosplaying as her boyfriend but their feelings for each other are real in this romantic comedy from Seressia Glass.
Sometimes Kenya Davenport believes she was switched at the hospital—how else could a lover of anime, gaming, and cosplay come from STEM parents? Still, Kenya dreams of being able to turn her creative hobby into a career. She finally has a chance to make it big when she joins the reality show competition Cosplay or No Way.
There's just one catch: the challenge for the final round is all about iconic pairs, and the judges want the contestants' significant others to participate. Unfortunately, Kenya is as single as can be at the moment. Luckily her best friend, Cameron Lassiter, agrees to be her fake boyfriend for the show.
Roleplaying a couple in love will force them to explore what they're hiding under the mask of friendship. Can Kenya and Cam fake it until she makes it, or will she be real about her feelings, knowing it could cost her the best friend she’s ever had?
