**THIS EVENT IS TAKING PLACE AT OUR NEW LOCATION: 3555 ROSECRANS ST, SUITE 107 (corner of Rosecrans & Midway)
Amy Spalding manages the digital media team for an indie film advertising agency, and as her website bio states, “By later day and night, Amy writes, performs, and pets as many cats as she can.” She has been called “the funniest YA contemporary writer out there.” (Book Riot’s Hey YA Podcast) Told in dual timelines moving either backward or forward, Amy’s latest YA novel, We Used to Be Friends chronicles the end of one of our earliest relationships: besties. James (a girl with a boy’s name) and Kat have been inseparable for years, but by the end of high school, the friendship dissolves. As James prepares to head to college, she reflects on hers and Kat’s ruined relationship. Alternatively, still taking place during their high school senior year, Kat is concentrating on her relationship with her first girlfriend, wanting nothing more than James to be her steady rock.
