Please join us for an evening of mystery, thrills, and political intrigue with authors David Marlett and Jeffrey E. Seay, presented by Sisters in Crime.
David is an award-winning, bestselling author, screenwriter, story and copy editor, and more. He predominantly likes to write historical fiction that leans toward legal thrillers, as he enjoys bringing alive the fascinating people and events leading to major historical trials. His first such novel, Fortunate Son, is a critically acclaimed national bestseller. David’s latest novel, American Red, takes place at the dawn of the 20th century. The Idaho governor is assassinated, with the blame falling on “Bill Bill” Haywood, the powerful, one-eyed boss of the Western Federation. As America’s most famous attorney, Clarence Darrow, leads his defense, a bevy of private detectives, press, gunhands, and spies will push the boundaries of justice in America.
Jeffrey spent more than half his career in the Far East, involved with counterintelligence, counter-terrorism, and force protection operations. Now as a retired NCIS Special Agent, he spends his days writing his Rubin Carver series of books, drawing from his vast background. His third title in the series, The Istanbul Agent, is a fast-paced tale of intrigue. A DARPA scientist with a proclivity for bio-weaponry and genocide has gone missing. It is suspected to be the work of an arcane, international cabal known only as The Board. Carver’s plan to find and extract the scientist is further complicated by The Board’s plan in obtaining a planet-wide killing bacterial agent. Ruben Carver is in for another wild ride.
