T. Greenwood is an author of thirteen published novels, a photographer, and an instructor of creative writing at San Diego Writer’s Ink. She has won three San Diego Book Awards, had her story Bodies of Water become a finalist for the Lambda Foundation award, and has been honored with grants from several foundations and art councils. Her latest novel, Keeping Lucy, is the story of a mother’s love, and the lengths one would go for their children. It’s 1969 and Ginny Richardson’s daughter, Lucy, is born with Down Syndrome. Her husband Ab, under pressure from his wealthy family, insists that Lucy is sent to Willowridge, a special school for the “feeble-minded.” Two years later, Ginny sees pictures revealing what’s inside Willowridge: a squalid hell-on-earth. What transpires is a journey beyond Massachusetts state lines, Ginny and Lucy turned fugitives, with Ab and his family’s reach follows close behind.
