Carmen Maria Machado’s critically lauded debut short story collection, Her Body and Other Parties, was a finalist for the National Book Award, World Fantasy Award, and Locus Award, and winner of the Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Fiction, the Shirley Jackson Award, and the National Book Critics Circle's John Leonard Prize. Her stories have been reprinted in Best American Science Fiction & Fantasy, Best Horror of the Year, The New Voices of Fantasy, and Best Women's Erotica. A television show based on the book is currently in development.
Established in 1968, the Clarion Writers’ Workshop is the oldest workshop of its kind and is widely recognized as a premier proving and training ground for aspiring writers of fantasy and science fiction.
