Chris Baron is a Professor of English at local San Diego City College and the director of the Writing Center. He's also the author of the (adult) poetry collection, Lantern Tree, which was published as part of a poetry anthology, Under the Broom Tree, winner of the San Diego Book Award.
All of Me, Chris’ debut novel, is a middle grade novel in verse. Everything in Ari’s life is changing. After a cross-country move, his parents are too busy selling and promoting his mother’s paintings and sculptures. His bohemian mother needs space to create and his father is often away on “sales” trips, leaving Ari, a teen suffering from body-image issues, often alone. As he deals with relentless bullying and the steady decay of his parent’s marriage, Ari must also face changes going on with himself, both physically and emotionally. All of Me is a “beautifully written, brilliant, and necessary” (Matthew de la Peña, Newbery Medalist) story about accepting the imperfections in oneself and in life.

How to order books & tickets:
This is a ticketed event. Priority tickets to the signing line are given only with the purchase of ALL OF ME from Mysterious Galaxy. Tickets are numbered, indicating your place in the signing line, and are sold on a first-come basis. You may purchase your book online, in-store, or over the phone, but all books must be paid in full in order to receive a ticket.
Online orders:
1) You must enter payment method. Books ordered using the 'pay in store' option will not be issued a ticket or guaranteed a book until actual payment is made.
2) Note your intent to attend in the comments section at checkout.
You'll be able to pick up your book and ticket from Mysterious Galaxy the day the book is published, JUNE 11TH at 10:00 AM.
Other limitations may apply. The event itself is free and open to the public. Seating is first-come first-served 30-40 minutes before the start of the event.
