Vince Aiello & Robert Gilberg Signing

Vince Aiello & Robert Gilberg

Vince Aiello, a Southern California attorney and novelist, writes legal thriller and contemporary examinations of faith, mostly set in America’s Finest City, San Diego. 3 Days Till Dawn recounts a tale of a terrorist fueled by hate; a thief focused on a bank robbery; a young girl coveted by a psychopath; and an old woman with a secret. Legion’s Lawyers places the head of a prestigious San Diego law firm in the middle of a turf war between a Mexican drug cartel and a local gangster. Faith Full sets two Carlsbad men on a collision course where faith will be challenged, faith will be doubted, and faith will be tested. Aiello writes books that are “screenplay-ready,” with tight scenes, strong dialogue, and a three-act structure. “I am drawn to authors who have also written for the screen,” Aiello says, citing such writers as Rod Serling, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and William Peter Blatty.

Robert Gilberg lives in San Diego, California with his wife of 50 years, Nikki, and their Fox Terrier, Sophie; a Shih-Poo named Obi (Wan Kanobe); African Grey parrot, Coco; Belgian Water Slogger canary, Punkin, and a huge assortment of wild birds and other wildlife. Local author Robert is a retired semiconductor devices executive with thirty five years of experience dating back to the earliest days of transistorized computers. He was a member of a team receiving an Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Emmy Award for digital television anti-piracy systems. Starvation Mountain features the scene-stealing Jim Schmidt from 2012’s thriller,  Alice Chang -- a not-so-reformed ex-hippy with a Phd in Computer Science; and Penny (Emma) Lane, a take-no-prisoners, street smart lady with a business degree from San Diego State.

Starvation Mountain is a contemporary fiction thriller. Jim Schmidt had found his home, his place, on his acreage located on Starvation Mountain. He loved riding the mountains that ranged east of San Diego, and his avocado grove would soon be the site of his retirement home. He wished he had been able to convince Annie to move south when he left Boulder Creek where they had lived together. It was still painful to consider that she had finally agreed to come down for a week just before she died in an awful traffic accident. Now, some years after he had purchased his grove, he was finally getting the plans going for his home. He had been discussing them with his architect when he heard a woman's voice. She approached him from the small cabin adjoining his land. Her name was Penny Lane, itself a fitting icebreaker of a conversational topic. Like him, she loved to ride, and, like Jim, she actually preferred Jack Daniels to wine. Penny had an unknown problem, however; one that she didn't create, but would set the two new friends on a life and death ride across the country.
