San Diego Writer's Support Group
Whether you write science fiction, speculative fiction, urban fantasy, high fantasy, noir, comic books, mystery, horror, teen angst, tween angst, YA, or even those books starring the sexy vampire who falls in love with the pretty girl so he feels bad about eating her, join us for the Mysterious Galaxy Amateur Writers Support Group. We’ll be meeting approximately every other week with authors dropping in every other month. Bring your works in progress and any questions you might have.
Participation in the group does not guarantee any form of publication. We are simply writers, meeting with other writers, in hope of inspiration. The format and structure of the group will evolve along with its members. At present the next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 21st at 7PM.
Our group does have limited space. If you are interested in attending please contact Ben through email or call the store at (858) 268 - 4747. However, our author visits are open to anyone.
BEN says: One very useful tool, that helps to keep me productive, is the site Write or Die. The slogan listed at the top of the page is "Putting the 'Prod' in Productivity". And it does just that. You set your own goal, such as 200 word in ten minutes. You must keep typing the entire time. If you go 30 seconds with out a word down, the screen around your text will turn pink. Another 30 seconds, red. And yet another 30, and you lose it all and have to start over. Check it out. If it's not useful to you, at least it will be fun.
