On Saturday, November 7, we invite you to join Publishers Weekly in celebrating the first annual National Bookstore Day, a day devoted to celebrating bookselling and the vibrant culture of bookstores. We are celebrating with special gifts for customers throughout the day, and a pair of author events, beginning at noon with young adult science fiction author Tom Kirkbride. In the first Gamadin novel, Word of Honor, teenage surfers Harlowe and Matt played a vital part in keeping an alien warship, Millawanda, out of the wrong hands. In Mons, the kids have been stranded on a strange planet without resources for basic survival, and can't even reach their distraught families. Tom is a passionate surfer himself, and an artist as well as an author, and will also have some special swag for attendees at his event.
