Josh Finney and Kat Rocha sign in San Diego

Casefile: Arkham: Nightmare on the Canvas is the first graphic novel in a projected series from local indie press 01 Publishing, combining two pulp sensibilities, Lovecraftian horror and noir. Marine turned private eye Hank Flynn and gal pal Glynda discover not just murder, but also eldritch horrors lurking in mid-20th Century Arkham, MA.  Author and occasional artist, Josh I. Finney is the mind behind the award winning graphic novel World War Kaiju, and a contributor to the H.P. Lovecraft-inspired anthology, Whispers from the Abyss; the latter is edited by publisher Kat Rocha. 01 Publishing defines itself as “a global imprint dedicated to the best in speculative fiction,” and Josh and Kat are regular participants in MG’s genre events.

There will also be a raffle at the event, so be sure to come out and win some prizes.

Set in the mid-1940s, Strange Cases follows Hank Flynn, a down on his luck private eye who is back from the war and now working the mean streets of the most cursed city on Earth--Arkham, Massachusetts. And things only get worse for Flynn when a wealthy uptown socialite hires him to track down an artist by the name of Pickman. What begins as a simple missing persons case leads Flynn down a dark path of flesh eating ghouls, vengeful witches, and the notorious Innsmouth mafia.
