Inquiry agent Maisie Dobbs has won bookseller and librarian accolades and genre awards and nominations since she debuted in 2003 in Jacqueline Winspear’s mystery of the same title. Now in The Mapping of Love and Death., her seventh outing, Maisie is hired in 1932 to seek the mysterious missing lover of a young California man who was first reported missing in action in the European theatre in 1916. The woman is only identified in the letters as “The English Nurse.” Her investigation stirs up difficult memories for Maisie of her time serving as a nurse in the Great War – and may uncover other buried secrets that some may prefer remain hidden.
