Former Vegas showgirl Vicki Pettersson strolls into the supernatural noir genre with the latest novel and first book in the Celestial Blues series, The Taken. (See Maryelizabeth’s review here.) Grif, a 1950’s PI, is now an angel assigned to collect the soul of a smoldering journalist with a flair for vintage fashion and danger, but he has ideas of his own and, while protecting Kit, sets out on his own search to find the person who murdered his wife 50 years earlier.
Michael Connelly said of David Freed’s debut novel, “Flat Spin is a perfect take off for what I think will be a long and unique career for David Freed and his creation, Cordell Logan. They both know the turf well and I look forward to more.” David’s background includes working as a journalist for the Los Angeles Times, a screenwriter, and an asset working with the U.S. intelligence community, as well as more than 30 years as a licensed pilot, all of which informs his work.
