Description

There are people whose private lives are no more than their cover story. These people are Nonofficial Assets.

Peyton Stone has put the past behind him. He is successful, an internationally known security expert. Then he finds his business partner murdered in a Shanghai hotel and a Chinese arms dealer on his trail. He has no choice but to reach back to his friend and former CIA handler, Harry Morrison, to find out who killed his partner and why.

Stone soon finds himself back under contract to the Agency and on the hunt for a stolen nuclear weapon and the Iranian Admiral who is bent on destroying the one best chance for stability and peace in the Middle East. As the clock ticks down to the signing of an historic peace accord Peyton and Harry race to untangle the threads that lead from China through Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran and end finally in the Oval Office itself.
