I don't usually become obsessed with a book. Yes, I love books. I am evangelist for some of them. I sell books and I talk about books. But this book left me speechless, kept me captivated, and resonated with me (and hopefully with you).
We all have a back story, we have all made decisions based on our interpretation of events in our personal histories, and we sometimes have to deal with them again and again until we get it right. April and Oliver share a family that is blended in some unusual ways and they share a bond that is unbreakable, though each one tries, time and time again, to sever it. Their childhoods and their adolescence have been formed by their shared experiences. The book begins when they come together, after a long separation, for a present day tragedy and their story continues with glimpses into the past and present day hurdles to overcome. April and Oliver cannot stay away from each other though their future seems to be driving them apart. You will be surprised in unexpected ways and the journey is not to be missed. The writing is pitch-perfect, the pages easy to turn, and the ending will leave you nodding your head and at the same time, begging for more.
